New Changes

I recently completed the local Harvest Festival! I had a wonderful turnout, but am left with so much excess, check my Etsy shop, there will many new items up for grabs and discounted prices. I need to make room for my Christmas items. Since completing my first Harvest Festival and having so much success with the Tutus and Hair Bows online, I have decided to make a few changes to my little "Bow Making Business".

Well I have been in the "Bow Making Business" since April '09. I have to admit that I couldn't be happier for how things have been going, but this is also on top of my working full-time as a RN.

It has been unfortunate that the local Consignment store had to close down, this was a place that I was able to express my creative freedom. Since I now only sale at the Lollipop Shop, I have found it more difficult to stay in control of my product. I have worked really hard to get the word out about my bows and was really looking forward to selling the Tutus and Pettiskirts that I came across. I want to show that you don't have to pay an arm and leg for quality hair accessories or dress up things. I was really wanting to charge ahead and do the Tutus, Pettiskirts, Bows, and Beanies here in Safford, but unfortunately I live in a flooded market. Nearly every Salon and even Novelty shops sale hair bows and/or Tutus here in town.

I am a little discouraged, because I recently priced out "my competition" and know that I sale for less, but have a harder time reaching my community. I so appreciate everyone that bought from the Consignment Store and from The Lollipop Shop. I especially am grateful to Lois for her support in my product, but after October, the only place you will be able to purchase my product will be directly through me, here on my Blog, through my Facebook, or through my Etsy shop. I found that working "under" another person proved to be not as fulfilling as working for myself. I need to do this at this time to regain control over myself and my product.

I am so grateful for my blog and all the wonderful ladies that have added me to theirs. Word of my blog has spread and spread and I have received such nice comments. Thank you so much! I do love the Tutus and will continue to sell them through my blog and Etsy shop and as soon as the Pettiskirts come in I will list those as well. I want to stay true to why I started all this in the first place.

I love doing custom orders and hope that people continue to email me with bow ideas and adorable outfits to match bows to. I am constantly trying out new bow styles and will be listing more and more onto my blog, I would love to hear what you think.

I am also "tweaking" with my blog to make it more "shopper" friendly. That is one thing I love about bow making, the options are endless, but that also makes it harder for potential clients to narrow down what they might want, so I am redesigning my site and being more selective on the items I post on here.

I plan to continue to make custom hair bows for dance recitals through the Safford Dance Academy and I am charging ahead with my Bow of the Month Club!

Again, I really do want to continue my blog and my "creating", but just on a more controlled scale.

I know this was a long and "serious" post, but I just wanted to get it out there for anyone that I know that wonders why I have changed so much so fast.

Thanks again and I hope to stay in touch with all of you through this transition.
